Evidence of learning

5 weeks... that's how long I've been working on my blog. I've learned a lot about myself and the process of creating an ePortfolio. Just this week, when receiving feedback from my peers and teacher, I've learned how much I've grown when it comes to accepting that feedback. My principal and the administrators at my school are all about feedback and being open to giving and receiving it. It's been something that I've been working on for awhile now and this ePortfolio experience has been a helpful tool in developing my openness for feedback. At the beginning of this course, I was very stubborn and had no intention of changing my platform. I believed that I was right and felt myself preparing to be defensive in my choice. Looking back I realize how I was stuck in a fixed mindset and not accepting of advice. Having an growth mindset doesn't mean that you always view failure as something great and love criticism, it just means that you can recognize when you're in a fixed mindset and make a choice to be different and to focus on growth. So that's what I did. I realized I was not "walking the walk" and I choose to be more growth and feedback oriented. I reached out to my professor and peers and was open and willing to accept feedback. Based on their feedback, I changed the platform for my blog and redid a lot of pages. They made some great suggestions and I understood where they were coming from. I changed what I could and thanked them for their advice. While some changes were easy to make (condensing my top menu and making categories for my blog posts), others were not so easy... for the life of me, I can't figure out how to make some of the text on some pages aligned to the left.
But if you need any proof of my evidence of learning... view my ePortfolio before the feedback and then peruse this site to see the changes. Feedback made me better, it makes us all better
