A large part of a successful digital course is communication. One of the great features of Schoology is the Conference App which allows a Video and Audio meeting with up to 25 students at a time. If there is a need for a larger conference, I can also create a Google Meet with breakout rooms that will facilitate a space for collaboration and discussion between the students themselves for teacher to student communication. I also have created a bitmoji classroom that has a direct link to my email and twitter accounts that will allow students to contact me directly and quickly.
My course will be self-paced but I have created each lesson to be completed before the next one can be opened. Any updates will be communicated through the "update" section on schoology and students will get a notification through their email or the schoology app when updates have changed. I will offer opportunities for continuous feedback through autonomous Google forms that will gather information on how to better meet the needs of my students and their parents. I understand that this will be an ongoing learning process and there will be times of "missed successes" but we are all in this together and there will be a need for grace, trust, and open communication.
